Why Bridal Tiaras?

Famous historic crown tiaras were originally created to enhance the beauty and authority of the wearer. They were handcrafted by some of the worlds most noteable designers. For the modern bride, bridal tiaras and wedding headpieces are now more affordable. Even modest, discount tiaras become a personal and treasured family heirloom.

Today these splendid headpieces are made of many different materials. Pearl tiaras, swarovski crystals, and rhinestones are the most popular choices as they compliment contemporary wedding gowns. Silver metalwork is still the most popular but gold tiaras, worn with ivory gowns, are making a huge comeback.
The modern wedding tiara is much more than just a nod to tradition. Historically, this dazzling headpiece was used to enhance the dignity and beauty of women. It was used at first as a symbol of power, then later as a symbol of timeless elegance, and finally, as a symbol of romantic love.

The tiara is making a stronger comeback than at any other time in history. Women have always recognized it as a symbol of power, romance, and glamor. At your wedding ceremony, your tiara should make a strong statement to your new family, friends, and guests about who you are, about your sense of taste, fashion, and propriety. The most useful site for learning how to wear a wedding tiara with or without a veil seems to be Princess Bride Tiaras where you can learn exactly how to style your hair for a tiara, and how to match a tiara to a wedding gown. We like this site because it is not full of ads and useless links!

Diana's tiara inspires tower in Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Enquirer, Wednesday, December 26, 2007:
Cincinnati architects saw a picture of princess Diana and conceived the crown for the Queen City. It turns out that architects were royally inspired when they designed the tower destined to be Cincinnati's tallest. They drew on one of Princess Diana's tiaras as inspiration for the crown atop the planned 40-story Great American Insurance Building at Queen City Square. Design architect Gyo Obata, a founder and principal of Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum Inc., was flipping through books in a bookstore when he was struck by a picture of Diana wearing her crown. "Gyo thought, 'That's perfect. Here we have the crown of the building, and the nickname for the city is Queen City,' "says Joe Robertson, project manager with HOK. "When Gyo first came up with the concept of the design, we were trying to develop something that would be unique and capture your attention. That's when he came up with the idea of the top of the building." Obata's design for the 660-foot planned office tower is generating interest, praise and some criticism among Cincinnati's architectural community. At 86 feet higher than the Carew Tower and massive in form, the building will be a prominent feature on the cityscape.
